Safeguarding

We ensure that safeguarding is a key priority in and integral to all aspects of school life.

Northern Leaders Trust takes safeguarding very seriously. Studio West ensures that safeguarding is a key priority in all aspect of school life and that it is a key part of our curriculum content. Safeguarding is the responsibility of each member of our team and is integral to every aspect of school life.

Please find attached a draft safeguarding and child protection policy. This is currently in the process of being ratified by governors. Once this is finalised an updated version will be added to this web page

Reporting a concern when school is open

If you have any concerns about issues such as bullying, sexual harassment or a more general worry about the welfare of a child please let us know and we can help.

Students and parents can report a concern to safeguarding staff by emailing: [email protected]

Parents can also call the school reception.

Students can talk to a trusted adult at school eg Year Leader, Form Tutor, lunchtime duty staff, or talk to a trusted adult at home eg parent or close relative.

Operation Encompass
We are an Operation Encompass school. This is a partnership between police and schools that shares information about domestic abuse incidents to ensure children who have experienced it receive immediate support. When police attend a domestic abuse call where children are present, they notify a designated “key adult” at the child’s school before the next school day starts. This allows the school to provide timely and appropriate support to the child
 
Operation Endeavour
  • What it is: A partnership between local police, children’s services and schools, to help protect children who run away or go missing.
  • Purpose: To safeguard children at risk of harm, which can include sexual exploitation, gang involvement, violence, and substance abuse.
  • How it works: When a child is reported missing, the police will share relevant information with social care, who then pass necessary information to designated staff at the child’s school to help ensure the child receives support upon their return.
